OUR STORY

An Anne Arundel County native, Amy Tech has returned to her roots as the owner of the newly opened Annapolis baby shop Dream Baby Decor, featuring a wide selection of functional and affordable collections of luxury baby necessities and decor.

Pulling from her strong retail management experience at well-respected brands such as Brooks Brothers and Bath & Body Works, and previous online baby store ownership, Amy is excited to open this shop to fill the industry void in the region. As a mother of three boys (Marshall-13, Lucas-11 and Bryce-9), Amy is using her maternal wisdom to determine the best quality products and personalized service in an alternative shopping venue from the typically bigger box stores.

She is providing customer support a few days a week in the shop, focusing on merchandising and product knowledge with the Dream Baby Decor staff, and sourcing products from top vendors. Amy is selecting items that she enjoyed using with her boys when they were little or those she wish she had at that time! Having three children, she understands the need for quality products that will last through family growth without having to be replaced.

Working with her husband Seng who is overseeing Dream Baby Decor’s store and employee operations while also owning Pinnacle 1 Inventory and a Boost Mobile store in Annapolis, Amy is privileged to make this a true family experience. From unboxing products, painting and cleaning the store, to selecting a featured item monthly, the boys are along for the ride.

Prior to her retail career, Amy graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School and transitioned to York College of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, followed by a degree from The Catholic University of America in Flute Performance. Upon graduation, Amy began teaching private flute and piano lessons in the evening and managed retail stores during the day in Virginia. Shortly thereafter, she and Seng moved back to Anne Arundel County where she taught private flute and piano lessons full time while sharing her talents as a teacher at Prime Time Childcare and Bishop McNamara High School.

Opening Dream Baby Decor has always been a dream for Amy. Even with the national pandemic, she believes that it is the right time for her and her family, and feels the community needs a shop like this in the area. With more people supporting small businesses, Amy wants to provide her clientele in the region with a better selection of products for their growing families coupled with unparalleled personalized service.
